Jay Cutler threw three touchdown passes as the Chicago Bears defeated the Minnesota Vikings 27-13 on Sunday in what was likely Brett Favre’s last meaningful game.
Favre, who threw for a career-high 446 yards last week, finished 18 of 31 for 170 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions as the Vikings fell to 3-6 and out of serious contention for an NFC playoff spot.
Devin Hester caught a 19-yard touchdown pass and set up a field goal with a 68-yard kickoff return in the third quarter for the Bears (6-3).
Cutler was 22 of 35 for 237 yards and two interceptions and Robbie Gould kicked two field goals.
Cutler threw two touchdown passes in the second quarter as the Bears led 14-10 at halftime. He connected with Hester with 52 seconds left and hit Greg Olsen with a 17-yarder.
Cutler also threw a 19-yard TD pass to Kellen Davis in the fourth quarter.
Favre’s interception early in the third quarter set up Gould’s 34-yard field goal to give the Bears a 17-10 lead. His last two interceptions came in the fourth quarter, giving him an NFL-leading 16 this season.
The Bears held Adrian Peterson to 51 yards rushing. He was second in the NFL entering the game.
