Kenneth Darby scored the go-ahead touchdown and Josh Brown kicked three field goals as the St. Louis Rams snapped a 10-game losing streak with a 30-16 victory over the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
Daniel Fells caught a touchdown pass and Steven Jackson scored before leaving with a groin injury for St. Louis (1-2), which notched its first victory since Nov. 1, 2009.
Rookie Sam Bradford, the top overall pick in this year’s draft, earned his first win by completing 23 of 37 passes for 235 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He led the Rams on a 12-play, 74-yard drive that was capped by Darby’s 12-yard touchdown run with 7:21 left in the third.
Brown chipped in field goals of 37, 29 and 36 yards in the fourth quarter. Darby finished with 49 yards on 14 carries after Jackson left in the second quarter with a groin injury.
Jackson rushed for 58 yards on 10 carries – including a 42-yard touchdown run - before departing.
The Rams scored the first 14 points of the game, but Washington (1-2) responded with 16 straight points and took the lead on a 31-yard field goal from Graham Gano with 12:42 left in the third.
Donovan McNabb finished 19 of 32 for 236 yards with a touchdown and an interception for Washington.
His favorite target was Santana Moss, who had six catches for 124 yards and a touchdown.
