Davion Warren scored 23 points as No. 12 Texas Tech defeated Kansas State 73-68 on Monday night in Lubbock, Texas to finish the season 18-0 at home.

The Red Raiders (23-7, 12-5 Big 12) finished the game on an 8-3 run to bounce back from a Saturday loss at TCU.

Warren's jumper put the Red Raiders up 67-65 with 2:07 remaining. Kansas State's Mike McGuirl split a pair of free throws before Selton Miguel hit a pair to give the Wildcats a 68-67 lead with 1:25 left.

Warren then hit a jumper from the foul line to put Texas Tech back up with 1:09 to go. After a McGuirl miss, Adonis Arms hit both ends of a one-and-one to stretch the lead to 71-68.

Nijel Pack's 3-point attempt was blocked, and Warren iced the game with two more foul shots.

Texas Tech also got 19 points from Bryson Williams plus 10 points and six assists from Arms.

Kansas State (14-15, 6-11) played without second-leading scorer Markquis Nowell, who sustained a hamstring injury late in the team's Saturday loss against Iowa State. The Wildcats, who lost their fourth straight, were led by McGuirl with a season-high 18 points. Miguel had 14, Pack scored 13 and Mark Smith had 11.

Down by eight at halftime, Kansas State scored the first six points of the second half and used a 9-1 run to tie the score at 40-all.

Much like in the first half, Kansas State started the second half hot from the 3-point arc. The Wildcats hit five of their first six long-distance attempts while Texas Tech wound up 0 of 7 from 3-point range after halftime. The game came down to the final four minutes with the score tied at 63-63.

Kansas State was content bombing away from long range at the start. Eight of the first nine shots for the Wildcats came from behind the arc, and they connected on four treys for a 14-8 lead.

The Wildcats built a 23-14 edge before Texas Tech went on a 25-8 run to end the half and take a 39-31 lead into intermission. Kansas State went the final four minutes without scoring, while Texas Tech put up 12 points.

Texas Tech was led by Williams with 11 first-half points and Warren with 10. KJ Allen had six rebounds in the first half for Texas Tech, and he wound up with a game-high eight.

McGuirl, who came into the night averaging just seven points per game, had 12 points by halftime.
