Eugene Omoruyi scored a game-high 18 points as Oregon won its home opener Monday night, defeating Eastern Washington 69-52 in Eugene, Ore.

The Ducks (2-1), who dropped out of the Top 25 earlier in the day after a season-opening 83-75 to Missouri last Wednesday, were led by a trio of transfers.

Eric Williams Jr. scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and LJ Figueroa added 12 points and 10 boards before fouling out. Omoruyi is a transfer from Rutgers, Williams came from Duquesne and Figueroa from St. John's.

Jacob Davison topped Eastern Washington (0-3) with 15 points. Davison, the preseason Big Sky Conference MVP, made his first four field-goal attempts but finished 5 of 16, including 0 of 6 from 3-point range. Tyler Robertson added 11 points for the Eagles, and Tanner Groves grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.

Omoruyi, a senior forward who was named the Pac-12's Player of the Week after averaging 26.5 points in two games last week, also played stellar defense against Eastern Washington's Kim Aiken Jr., a preseason All-Big Sky selection. Aiken was held scoreless, missing all three of his field-goal attempts.

It was the Eagles' third defeat this season against a Pacific-12 Conference opponent. They led both Washington State and Arizona at the half before absorbing three-point losses in both games.

The Eagles had a chance to tie the score just before the half, but Davison's jumper missed with six seconds left and Jalen Terry grabbed the rebound and drove the length of the court for a buzzer-beating layup to give Oregon a 36-32 lead.

The Ducks opened the second half with an 11-4 run, capped by Figueroa's layup off a fastbreak, to take a double-digit lead. The Eagles never got closer than six points the rest of the way.

Oregon shot 44.4 percent from the field (28 of 63) while holding Eastern Washington to 33 percent (19 of 57). The Ducks held a 45-31 rebounding edge and a 38-20 advantage in points in the paint. The Eagles managed just five second-chance points on four offensive rebounds.
