De'Vion Harmon scored 18 points to lead No. 24 Oklahoma to a 66-61 win over No. 9 Alabama in SEC/Big 12 Challenge play at Norman, Okla., on Saturday.
The Sooners (11-4) won their fifth consecutive game, each of the last three against top-10 opponents.
The loss snaps the Crimson Tide's 10-game winning streak. Alabama (14-4) hadn't lost since Dec. 19.
Alex Reese led Alabama with 15 points while Jaden Shackelford added 14.
Oklahoma struggled offensively late, going 2 of 11 from the floor before Elijah Harkless' jumper with 19 seconds left put the Sooners up 65-61.
After the Crimson Tide hit six of seven shots to take the lead in the final four minutes, Alabama missed its final eight from the floor.
Harmon was 7-for-15 from the floor. Harkless added 14 points and Brady Manek and Umoja Gibson had 12 apiece.
Manek came up big during a key stretch in the second half, scoring eight consecutive Sooner points during a 12-1 run that put Oklahoma up 52-41. Before that stretch, Manek was just 1 of 7 from the floor.
Playing without two starters, including leading scorer Austin Reaves, the Sooners got off to a hot start, building a quick 11-2 lead with plenty of defensive pressure.
Oklahoma forced six Alabama turnovers in the first five minutes.
The Crimson Tide got back into the game with strong defense of their own, as Oklahoma went 1 of 15 from the floor over the next seven minutes. Alabama ripped off a 14-3 run, with eight points by John Petty Jr., to take a 25-20 lead.
The Sooners, though, settled back in offensively at the end of the half, making their final five shots to take a 32-29 lead into the break.
Reaves and Alondes Williams missed the game due to COVID-19 protocols.
The Crimson Tide shot 35.7 percent from the field in the second half and 38.9 percent for the game. The Sooners shot 40.3 percent.
Oklahoma outscored Alabama 10-0 in second-chance points, outrebounding the Crimson Tide 42-34.
