Tres Tinkle scored 23 points, including the game-winning free throws with 17 seconds remaining, to push Oregon State past Stanford, 68-65, Thursday at Gill Coliseum.
Oregon State (16-13, 6-11 Pac-12) led for more than 30 minutes of game time, including virtually the entire second half, and built a 10-point lead on a Tinkle 3-pointer with 8:45 remaining.
But Stanford (20-10, 9-8) chipped away at the deficit, going on a 19-8 run that lasted more than eight minutes. Tyrell Terry capped the momentum-swinging stretch with a jumper for two of his 13 points, giving Stanford its first lead since the late first half.
The Cardinal went ahead by five points with just over five minutes to go before halftime, but Oregon State closed the period on a 13-6 run.
The Beavers did not relinquish the lead again until there were 34 seconds remaining in regulation.
Tinkle missed near the basket before Terry's shot gave Stanford the lead, but the Oregon State veteran made up for it when he made both of his free throws to put the Beavers back on top. He closed out the night grabbing the last of his four rebounds and making two more foul shots to seal the win.
Ethan Thompson joined Tinkle in double-figures with 15 points. He shot a team-best 3-of-6 from 3-point range on a night the Beavers hit 40 percent as a team. Zach Reichle, who scored 10 points, shot 2-of-4 from long range.
Stanford, meanwhile, struggled from outside. Isaac White's would-be game-tying attempt as time expired was the Cardinal's 12th miss from behind the arc; they made just three as a team.
Despite its outside shooting woes, Stanford had four players score in double figures. Bryce Wills led the way with 16 points, Oscar Da Silva chipped in 14 points, and Daejon Davis added 10 points, five rebounds and five assists.
Terry recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds and also dished five assists.
Kylor Kelley scored nine points, grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and blocked a game-high three shots for Oregon State.
