Saddiq Bey scored a career-high 33 points to lead No. 16 Villanova past Georgetown 80-66 on Saturday in Philadelphia.
Bey made a career-best eight 3-pointers to tie the program record and shot 10 of 15 overall.
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl added 14 points and seven rebounds for Villanova, which was 15 of 29 from beyond the arc. Collin Gillespie contributed 11 points.
The win was the second in a row for the Wildcats (12-3, 3-1 Big East).
Reserve center Qudus Wahab led Georgetown with 13 points while Jamorko Pickett added 12. Terrell Allen and Omer Yurtseven had 10 apiece.
The Hoyas fell to 11-6 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
Georgetown knocked down seven straight shots and took a 21-19 lead with 11:57 remaining in the first half.
After five empty possessions, the Wildcats received consecutive treys from Bey and Cole Swider to go ahead 28-23 with 7:24 left. Samuels added a 3-pointer as the 9-0 run pushed the lead to 31-23.
Wahab later hit a tough basket in the lane and was fouled. Wahab made the free throw and the game was tied at 34 with 2:46 remaining.
Villanova took a 39-36 lead at halftime thanks in large part to Bey's 19 points, which included five 3-pointers.
The Wildcats scored the first seven points to open the second half on their way to a 10-point lead at 46-36.
Allen hit a 3-pointer for Georgetown to cut the lead to 49-44 at the first television timeout.
Another 7-0 spurt by Villanova, capped by a seventh 3-pointer by Bey, extended the lead to 56-44.
The Hoyas came back with five consecutive points to climb within 56-49 with 12:03 to go.
Bey then drained his eighth triple as the Wildcats went ahead by 10 again.
Georgetown stayed close, trailing 63-56 when Wahab continued his strong play with a jump hook.
Robinson-Earl drove to the basket for a reverse layup and Brandon Slater had consecutive baskets as Villanova pulled ahead 69-56 with 4:34 remaining.
