Forward Moses Kingsley scored 17 points and the Arkansas defense held Tennessee to 35.4 percent from the field and the Arkansas Razorbacks defeated the Volunteers 85-67 on Saturday at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Ark.
Guard Dusty Hannahs opened the scoring with a 3-point jumper 30 seconds into the game to give Arkansas (12-11, 5-5 SEC) a lead it would keep the entire night.
Before the Volunteers (11-12, 4-5) knew what hit them, Hannahs connected on another long-range bomb and Kingsley got on the scoreboard with his first points and the Razorbacks had a 16-7 lead.
By the time guard Devon Baulkman scored the next Volunteers point almost five minutes later, the Razorbacks had opened a 16-point lead at 23-7.
Tennessee took a 36-23 lead at halftime.
Guard Anthlon Bell's 3-pointer early in the half put Arkansas up 41-23.
Guard Anton Beard's 3-pointer at the 6:31 mark put Arkansas up 70-50. Moments later, Trey Thompson's free throws gave the Razorbacks their largest lead of the game at 74-50.
Four other Razorbacks scored in double figures: Hannahs scored 13, Bell and Beard added 12 and guard Jimmy Whitt chipped in with 10.
Guard Kevin Punter led all scorers with 24 and guard Shembari Phillips had 12 points for the Volunteers.
Tennessee was 23 of 65 from the field and made only 11 of 17 from the free-throw line.
Arkansas connected on 52.6 percent from the field and outrebounded the Volunteers 41-33.
