Texas Tech 82, No. 13 Baylor 72: Jaye Crockett had 14 of his 19 points in the first half and the Red Raiders held of the visiting Bears' late comeback.
Toddrick Gotcher added 17 points and Dejan Kravic had 14 points, nine rebounds and six assists off the bench for Texas Tech (9-8, 1-3 Big 12), which snapped a 34-game losing streak to ranked opponents. Robert Turner also chipped in 14 points and Jordan Tolbert added 11 for the Red Raiders, who shot 57.1 percent from the floor.
Kenny Chery had a career-high 22 points for Baylor (13-3, 1-2). Taurean Prince added 13 points and Rico Gathers had 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench.
Texas Tech hit its first five shots and got nine straight points from Crockett for an early 15-6 lead. The Red Raiders finished the half on an 11-1 run - including a big dunk by Crockett - for a 43-22 halftime advantage.
Prince capped a 15-5 run with a 3-pointer to get Baylor within 65-54 with 6 1/2 minutes left. Prince added another 3 to get within 10 with two minutes left, but the Red Raiders hit 6-of-10 free throws down the stretch to hang on.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Baylor bench, which entered the game averaging 32.1 points, scored 29 points but had just four at halftime. ... Baylor went 0-of-8 from the 3-point line in the first half and finished 4-of-20. ... It was Texas Tech's first home win over Baylor since Feb. 7, 2009.
