Brandon Ingram scored a season-high 41 points and the host New Orleans Pelicans dominated from start to finish in a 138-100 victory over the sliding Toronto Raptors on Monday night.
Ingram made 16 of 21 field-goal attempts, 8 of 11 3-pointers and added nine assists in just three quarters. CJ McCollum scored 20 points, Zion Williamson had 16, Jose Alvarado had 11 and Jonas Valanciunas added 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Pelicans, who recorded their largest margin of victory this season.
Gradey Dick scored a career-high 22 points, Scottie Barnes had 17 and Jakob Poeltl added 14 to lead the Raptors, who lost for the eighth time in nine games and for the 12th time in 14 games.
Leading scorer RJ Barrett (left knee injury management) did not play for Toronto, which will conclude a six-game road trip in Charlotte on Wednesday night.
Ingram made one 3-pointer and McCollum made two early in the third quarter as the Pelicans expanded their lead to 80-56. New Orleans finished the quarter with a 105-71 lead, with Ingram scoring 20 points in the period.
Poeltl's layup started the scoring and gave the Raptors their only lead of the game. Ingram made a jumper and a 3-pointer as the Pelicans scored the next 10 points.
Williamson scored four points as the lead expanded to 21-8 before Barnes made a 3-pointer.
Trey Murphy III's 3-pointer pushed the lead to 31-11, and New Orleans led by 20 once more before holding a 36-19 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
Williamson and Larry Nance Jr. scored the Pelicans' first two baskets of the second quarter, producing the largest lead of the first half, 40-19. New Orleans matched that margin four times before Toronto chipped away.
Dick scored five points and Barnes had four during an 11-2 run that pulled the Raptors within 51-39. Toronto got within 12 two more times before Ingram made two jumpers to help the Pelicans rebuild the lead to 67-50 at halftime.
New Orleans led by as many as 45 in the second half.
