Pistons 102, Hawks 95: Rodney Stuckey matched a season high with 29 points in a rare start and Andre Drummond and Greg Monroe notched double-doubles as Detroit snapped a streak of 10 straight losses at Atlanta.
Drummond collected 19 points and 17 rebounds and Monroe added 21 points and 13 boards for the Pistons, who were without former Hawks star Josh Smith (left patellar tendinitis). Rookie Peyton Siva contributed 10 points off the bench as Detroit ended a three-game road losing streak.
Paul Millsap tallied 24 points and 12 rebounds to pace the Hawks, whose lead over the New York Knicks slipped to 1 1/2 games for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Jeff Teague finished with 15 points and nine assists, Pero Antic added 13 points and Kyle Korver contributed 12 as Atlanta had a modest two-game winning streak halted.
Korver and DeMarre Carroll each scored six points during a 14-0 Atlanta run that turned a 10-point deficit into a 71-67 lead midway through the third quarter, but Detroit bounced back and regained an 81-78 advantage heading to the fourth. Atlanta was within one point twice in the final stanza but never regained the lead as Stuckey took charge, hitting a jumper and knocking down six straight free throws to seal it.
The Pistons came out hot and raced to a 35-27 lead after a quarter, then extended the margin to 13 when Stuckey scored their first seven points of the second quarter. Stuckey's bucket just before halftime gave him 15 points at the break and sent Detroit into the locker room with a 58-52 lead.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Korver became the 22nd player in NBA history with 1,500 3-pointers when he connected from long range in the second quarter. … Drummond's double-double was his 53rd of the season, second-most in the NBA behind Minnesota's Kevin Love. He has recorded double-doubles in five of his six career games against Atlanta. … Atlanta G Lou Williams (hamstring) and Detroit G Will Bynum (foot) remained sidelined.
