Lakers 114, Pistons 99: Jordan Hill established season highs with 24 points and 17 rebounds to lead host Los Angeles past Detroit.

Jodie Meeks and Nick Young scored 19 apiece for the Lakers, who never trailed after a 16-0 run that bridged the third and fourth quarters. Steve Blake recorded season-bests with 16 assists and four steals for Los Angeles.

Brandon Jennings had 23 points and 14 assists, Josh Smith had 18 points and Greg Monroe tallied 17 for the Pistons, who have lost five of six games. Rodney Stuckey added 16 points and Andre Drummond had 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Young began the game-changing 16-point run with back-to-back 3-pointers and Jordan Farmar hit a last-second shot to give Los Angeles a 79-71 lead after three quarters. Farmar made another basket and Hill scored consecutive hoops to give the Lakers a 14-point edge with 10:35 remaining and Los Angeles led comfortably the rest of the way.

The Pistons shot 62.5 percent in the first half en route to a 56-50 lead. Detroit took its final lead at 71-69 on Stuckey’s basket with 2:04 left in the third quarter before Los Angeles went on its spurt.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Meeks had four 3-pointers as Los Angeles was 10-of-25 from behind the arc. … Pistons G Chauncey Billups (knee) sat out for the second consecutive game. … The Lakers have won nine of the past 12 meetings.
