Hawks 104, Wizards 95: Josh Smith poured in 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and Al Horford added 14 points and 14 boards as host Atlanta claimed its eighth win in nine games.
Jeff Teague added 19 points and six assists while Devin Harris and DeShawn Stevenson each scored 15 for the Hawks, who have won five straight meetings with Washington and 10 straight at home.
Kevin Seraphin contributed 19 points and seven rebounds off the bench to lead Washington, which was denied in its bid to win consecutive games for the first time this season. Rookie Bradley Beal added 18 points, and Jordan Crawford scored 14 off the bench.
Atlanta led by as many as 14 in the first half and took an 80-71 lead into the fourth quarter. The Wizards cut the margin to two points on Beal's two free throws with 4:07 left, but Smith scored eight points during an 13-2 run to help the Hawks pull away down the stretch.
The Hawks have topped 100 points in seven of their past nine games.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Horford recorded his fourth consecutive double-double. … Hawks F Kyle Korver missed his third consecutive game - the first because of a sore back and the past two because of the birth of a new child. He will not make the trip to Memphis for Saturday's game, either. … Washington's reserves scored 53 points, while the starters scored 42.
