Gerald Henderson scored 20 points and D.J. Augustin added 17 as the Charlotte Bobcats handed the visiting Atlanta Hawks their sixth consecutive loss with a 96-85 setback in the regular-season finale on Wednesday night.
Atlanta (44-38) seemingly is not concerned with entering the playoffs on a long losing streak. The Hawks trailed 61-43 at halftime and did not make a 3-pointer until 2:09 remained in the game. The Hawks rallied within six points in the fourth quarter, but D.J. White and Dominic McGuire helped the Bobcats (34-48) rebuild their lead to 13 points.
The Hawks will open the playoffs as the Eastern Conference’s fifth seed in a first-round series against the fourth-seeded Orlando Magic on Saturday night.
Josh Powell had 16 points and Jamal Crawford and Damien Wilkins scored 14 apiece for Atlanta.
Dante Cunningham scored 14, White had 12 and Kwame Brown 11 for the Bobcats.
