Jrue Holiday led seven players in double figures with 20 points as the Philadelphia 76ers crushed the visiting Washington Wizards, 117-94, on Wednesday.
Thaddeus Young collected 18 points and 10 rebounds and fellow reserve Evan Turner added 15 and eight for the 76ers (28-29), who pulled back within one game of .500 and maintained their grip on the No. 7 spot in the Eastern Conference.
The Wizards looked good at the start, streaking out to a 31-24 lead after the first 12 minutes. But Philadelphia turned up the defense in the second quarter, holding Washington without a basket for the first 4:38 as it used an 11-2 run to take the lead.
The 76ers only led by 54-49 at the break but opened it up quickly in the third period, outscoring Washington, 34-15, to turn it into a rout.
Philadelphia stretched the lead to as much as 112-76 on Turner’s basket with 4:58 left before taking its foot off the gas.
John Wall collected 21 points and 12 assists for the Wizards, who dropped to 1-27 on the road.
Washington forwards Andray Blatche - whose name was misspelled "Baltche" on his uniform - and Al Thornton left the game in the third quarter with apparent ankle injuries.
