Reserve Thaddeus Young had a season-high 26 points with 11 rebounds and the Philadelphia 76ers set season highs for points in a quarter and half in their 117-97 home victory over the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday.
The Sixers scored 35 points in the first quarter and raced out to a 66-54 halftime lead that was never threatened in the second half. It was the fifth straight home win for the Sixers, who placed seven players in double figures.
Jodie Meeks scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and Jrue Holiday also had 16 to lead Philadelphia’s starters. Andre Iguodala scored 13 points and Spencer Hawes added 10 and 12 rebounds.
The Sixers shot 52 percent and held a 44-29 rebounding edge as they won for the fourth time in five games overall.
J.J. Hickson scored 18 points for the Cavaliers, who lost their fifth straight game – all by double figures. It’s Cleveland's longest losing streak since dropping six in a row from Nov. 28-Dec. 8, 2007.
Daniel Gibson scored 16 points off the bench and Mo Williams had 15 and seven assists for the Cavs.
