Twins 8, Brewers 6: Brian Dozier, Joe Mauer and Ryan Doumit each homered in the fourth inning and host Minnesota completed a four-game sweep of the home-and-home interleague series against Milwaukee.
Chris Parmelee added a solo homer for the Twins, who have gone 5-1 following a 10-game losing streak. P.J. Walters (2-0) earned the win after allowing four runs on 10 hits over six innings, and Jared Burton worked a perfect ninth for his second save.
Kyle Lohse (1-6) gave up six runs over 4 2/3 frames for Milwaukee, which lost its sixth straight game and set a franchise record for most losses in one month. Logan Schafer had three hits and three RBIs for the Brewers, who fell to 5-22 in May.
The Twins led 5-0 after Dozier and Mauer began the fourth with back-to-back homers and Doumit capped the rally with a two-run blast. Minnesota knocked Lohse out of the game with two outs in the fifth after Mauer singled home a run.
Milwaukee cut the deficit to 6-3 in the sixth on Schafer’s bases-loaded triple and scored once in the seventh before leaving the bases loaded. The Brewers pulled within 8-6 with two runs in the eighth before going down in order in the ninth.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Twins placed 3B Trevor Plouffe on the 15-day disabled list with a left calf strain and recalled INF Chris Colabello from Triple-A Rochester. … The Brewers have not held a lead in the past 59 innings, dating to May 24. … All nine batters in both starting lineups recorded at least one hit, and the teams had 12 hits apiece.
