Nationals 10, Marlins 3: Ryan Zimmerman homered and had four RBIs and Washington racked up 16 hits while routing host Miami to snap a three-game losing streak.
Ian Desmond had four hits, Tyler Moore recorded three RBIs and Jordan Zimmermann pitched well for the third straight outing for the Nationals. The Marlins drop to 2-11 overall and 1-6 at home.
Zimmermann (3-0) struck out six and allowed three runs, six hits and one walk while pitching his second career complete game. Miami starter Wade LeBlanc (0-3) was touched for seven runs and nine hits in 3 2/3 innings.
The Nationals jumped on the Marlins for four first-inning runs on two-run singles by Zimmerman and Moore. The lead increased to 6-0 on back-to-back run-scoring doubles by Moore and Steve Lombardozzi in the third and Zimmerman added a two-run homer in the fourth.
Denard Span delivered a two-run single in the fifth to increase the lead to 10-0. The Marlins tallied twice in the sixth and once in the seventh.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Washington is 4-0 against Miami this season by a combined 21-4. … Marlins OF Giancarlo Stanton (shoulder) missed his fourth straight game and could be headed to the disabled list. OF Austin Kearns (irregular heartbeat) sat out for the second consecutive day. … Nationals 2B Danny Espinosa (wrist) was held out one day after being hit by a pitch from Atlanta’s Paul Maholm.
