White Sox 4, Marlins 3 (11): Jeff Keppinger singled in the winning run in the bottom of the 11th as Chicago outlasted visiting Miami.
The Marlins brought in Ryan Webb (1-2) for the 11th and the right-hander retired the first batter before yielding two singles and intentionally walking Conor Gillaspie to load the bases. Keppinger followed and grounded a 1-0 sinker into left field to plate pinch runner Tyler Greene and make a winning of reliever Nate Jones (1-4).
Keppinger finished with two RBIs and Paul Konerko drove in a run among three hits for the White Sox. Derek Dietrich hit a two-run homer for Miami, which has dropped three straight.
Dietrich took John Danks out to right for a two-run blast to put Florida on top in the fourth. Chicago got those two runs back in the fifth on an RBI groundout by Keppinger and Hector Gimenez’s run-scoring single to center.
Konerko’s two-out RBI single to left gave the White Sox their first lead in the sixth, but the Marlins got that run back in the seventh when Miguel Olivo’s sacrifice fly knotted it at 3.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami starter Tom Koehler allowed three runs in six innings. The rookie right-hander remained 0-2 despite surrendering a total of six runs in his three turns. … Danks (shoulder) was removed after six innings and 76 pitches.
