Angels 7, White Sox 5: Mike Trout had a pair of hits, including the go-ahead RBI single in the seventh inning, and visiting Los Angeles received an outstanding effort from its bullpen to win the series opener.

Brendan Harris went 3-for-4 with a homer and Albert Pujols and Mark Trumbo both had run-scoring hits in a four-run third for the Angels, who were forced to give reliever Barry Enright the start when scheduled starter Tommy Hanson was placed on the restricted list hours before first pitch.

After Enright gave up five runs in 3 1/3 innings, four Los Angeles relievers combined to throw 5 2/3 scoreless frames. Michael Kohn (1-0) got through one inning to pick up the win and Ernesto Frieri worked the ninth for his sixth save.

Chicago starter Dylan Axelrod (0-3) gave up six runs (five earned) in six innings. He was staked to an early 1-0 lead on Alejandro De Aza's solo shot but gave up four runs in the third on five hits, an error and a sacrifice fly.

Harris' second homer in as many days made it 5-1 in the fourth before the White Sox tied it in the bottom half with a rally highlighted by Dayan Viciedo's two-run double. Trout's base hit to right with one out in the seventh snapped the tie and J.B. Shuck came home later in the frame on a passed ball to finish the scoring.
