Diamondbacks 5, Rockies 4: Didi Gregorius homered and added a single in a two-run ninth inning as Arizona rallied to hand Colorado its first home defeat.

A.J. Pollock also had a pair of hits and scored the go-ahead run on Gerardo Parra's sacrifice fly off Wilton Lopez (0-1) as the Diamondbacks averted a three-game sweep and ended the Rockies' season-opening eight-game win streak at Coors Field.

Closer J.J. Putz wriggled out of a two-on, two-out jam in the ninth for his third save and Heath Bell (2-0) earned the win with one scoreless inning of relief after starter Brandon McCarthy allowed four runs on eight hits in six innings.

Troy Tulowitzki homered for the third time in four games and Carlos Gonzalez had a two-run single for the Rockies, who failed to protect leads of 3-0 and 4-2 in losing for only the fifth time in 18 games.

Rockies starter Juan Nicasio took a no-hitter into the fifth inning but gave up a solo shot to Gregorius and retired only one more batter before he was yanked. Cody Ross added an RBI double in the eighth as Arizona improved to 6-0 in series finales.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rockies 1B Todd Helton was not in the lineup for a second straight day due to a left forearm strain suffered in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Mets. ... Rockies RHP Jhoulys Chacin, who exited Friday's series opener after 6 1/3 innings, was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left lower-back strain and RHP Rob Scahill was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs.
