Indians 8, Reds 1: Johnny Damon and Asdrubal Cabrera homered in a five-run fourth inning and Justin Masterson tossed a three-hitter to help Cleveland finish off a three-game sweep of visiting Cincinnati.
The Indians, who have won seven straight home games against the Reds, salvaged a split of the season series with their in-state rivals after being swept in a three-game set at Cincinnati last week.
Masterson (4-6) was dominant, allowing just one unearned run and striking out nine. He has posted four consecutive quality starts and allowed just one earned run in 23 innings over his past three outings.
The Reds didn't manage a hit until Chris Heisey's one-out single in the fourth and Masterson had faced the minimum until Joey Votto's two-out single in the seventh.
Reds starter Bronson Arroyo (3-5) matched Masterson for three innings but fell apart in the fourth. Johnny Damon broke the scoreless tie with his third home run, a two-run drive to right.
Cabrera, whose two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th won Tuesday's game, followed with his eighth home run, a three-run blast to center, later in the inning.
The Indians added three more in the seventh on Lonnie Chisenhall's three-run double into the right-field corner.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The five runs in the fourth matched the most the Reds have allowed in an inning this season. … Cincinnati has not won at Progressive Field since May 22, 2010. … Masterson has allowed two runs (one earned) over 17 innings in his past two starts against the Reds. … Votto extended his hitting streak to nine games but teammate Brandon Phillips had his streak snapped at nine with an 0-for-3 night.
