Nationals 5, Phillies 1: Michael Morse and rookie Tyler Moore homered and drove in two runs apiece and Edwin Jackson tossed 6 2/3 solid innings as host Washington won its regular-season finale to secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
After Ryan Zimmerman led off the fourth inning with his 25th blast, Morse doubled off the right-field wall and came around to score on Moore's RBI double into the left-field corner.
Moore doubled the advantage in the sixth after depositing a slider from Cliff Lee (6-9) well into the seats in left field. The blast was Moore's 10th of the season - and first since Sept. 11.
Jackson (10-11) won his first career start in five tries versus Philadelphia after allowing one run on six hits and striking out six. Washington will host wild-card winner Atlanta or St. Louis on Sunday.
Darin Ruff collected his fifth RBI of the series with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning for the Phillies (81-81), who did not finish with a winning record for the first time since the 2002 campaign.
GAME NOTEBOOK: "Teddy Roosevelt" recorded his first victory in the fourth-inning Presidents' Race. After getting off to his traditionally slow start, Roosevelt benefited from an imposter Phillie Phanatic ambushing the other three presidents before crossing the finish line. ... Philadelphia GM Ruben Amaro Jr. admitted to reporters that the team plans to pick up C Carlos Ruiz's option for next season. ... The NL East rivals split their 18 meetings this season.
