Blue Jays 10, Athletics 4: Edwin Encarnacion homered and drove in three and Travis Snider's squeeze bunt scored the go-ahead runs as host Toronto ended Oakland's seven-game winning streak.

Encarnacion's career-best 27th homer of the season erased an early 3-0 deficit and Snider put the Jays ahead for good on a bizarre play in the sixth as Toronto (49-49) returned to the .500 mark. The Blue Jays salvaged the finale of the three-game series with the Athletics less than 18 hours after suffering a 16-0 defeat, the worst shutout loss in franchise history.

Josh Reddick had a solo homer and an RBI groundout while Brandon Inge added a two-run shot for the Athletics, who lost for just the third time in 17 games in July.

With Toronto trailing 4-3 in the sixth, Colby Rasmus and Brett Lawrie led off with back-to-back singles and advanced on a wild pitch from Tommy Milone (9-7). Snider followed with a perfect safety squeeze that easily scored Rasmus.

Milone scrambled to field the bunt but threw wide of first, hitting Snider with the ball. That allowed Lawrie to scamper home while Snider tried to advance to second but was caught in a rundown.

Kelly Johnson hit a solo shot into the right-field bullpen in the seventh inning - just his second homer in the last 46 games - and added a run-scoring double in Toronto's four-run eighth to make a winner out of Brandon Lyon (1-0). The veteran righty struck out three of the four batters he faced in relief of starter Aaron Laffey.

Milone was tagged for six runs - five earned - on eight hits over seven innings. He struck out seven and didn't walk a batter.
