Yankees 11, Blue Jays 4: Russell Martin's three-run homer sparked a four-run sixth inning and Nick Swisher added two hits and two RBIs as visiting New York evened the series at a game apiece and maintained its slim American League East lead.
Starter Hiroki Kuroda (15-11) added to his career high for wins by grinding through 5 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on 10 hits as the Yankees remained one game ahead of Baltimore for the division lead.
Martin greeted reliever Jason Frasor by belting a 3-2 slider down the left-field line for his career-high 20th homer in the sixth, pushing New York's lead to 6-1. Eric Chavez added a two-run homer in the ninth, going to the opposite field for his 15th of the season.
Blue Jays starter Chad Jenkins (0-3) lasted just 3 2/3 innings in his second major-league start, giving up three runs on four hits with three walks.
Colby Rasmus hit a solo homer - his 23rd - for the Blue Jays, and Adam Lind added a two-run shot to the opposite field for his 11th. Toronto slugger Edwin Encarnacion went 0-for-3 to snap his nine-game hitting streak.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Rasmus' homer was just his sixth since the All-Star break after hitting 17 before the break. … Blue Jays RHP Bobby Korecky pitched the ninth and allowed two runs in his first major-league game since 2009. Korecky made his major-league debut in 2008 with Minnesota. … Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez went 1-for-5 and has two hits in his last 21 at-bats.
