Shaun Marcum allowed one run in eight innings to win his sixth straight decision and the Milwaukee Brewers maintained the best home record in the National League with a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Saturday.
Marcum (6-1) allowed one run, four hits, two walks and struck out eight,
and retired the final 10 batters he faced.
John Axford gave up one run in the ninth before striking out Ty
Wigginton to strand the tying run at first for his 11th save as the Brewers improved to 15-6 at home.
The Rockies took a 1-0 lead in the first on Carlos Gonzalez' sixth home run. The Brewers went ahead 2-1 in the bottom half on an RBI double by Prince Fielder, who later scored on an error by third baseman Jose Lopez.
Jonathan Lucroy added a solo homer for the Brewers in the fifth, his fourth of the season.
Rockies starter Clayton Mortensen (1-1) lasted 6 2/3 innings and allowed three runs - two earned - on five hits. He walked three and struck out five.
