Martin Prado's two-out single in the ninth inning allowed the Atlanta Braves to salvage the finale of a three-game set against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a 4-3 win on Sunday.
Prado's single to shallow center field off reliever Blake Hawksworth (2-5) scored speedy Jose Constanza with the winning run. Atlanta extended its lead to 8 1/2 games in the National League wild card race.
Los Angeles took a 3-0 lead win the third inning when Matt Kemp hit a three-run homer off Atlanta rookie starter Randall Delgado.
The Braves tied it with a three-run rally in the seventh inning off Dodgers' ace Clayton Kershaw. A throwing error and a two-run pinch-hit single by Brooks Conrad accounted for the runs.
A Cy Young contender, Kershaw struck out 10 in his seven innings and has allowed five earned runs in 15 2/3 innings against Atlanta this season.
The victory means Atlanta and Philadelphia are the only two teams in the league who have not been swept in three- or four-game series this season.
