Jared Weaver allowed two runs over seven innings to win for the first time in his last seven starts and the Los Angeles Angels snapped the visiting New York Yankees’ four-game winning streak with a 3-2 victory on Friday.
Weaver (7-4) gave up three hits while striking out eight to win for the first time since April 25. He has allowed three runs in his last 26 innings.
Jordan Walden worked a perfect ninth inning for his 13th save.
Ivan Nova (4-4) allowed three runs on eight hits over six innings for the Yankees, who were coming off a three-game sweep in Oakland.
The Angels led the game after the bottom of the fourth, when Peter Bourjos singled with the bases loaded to bring home Russell Branyan.
